Urgent! Urgent! Urgent!

As you know the genocide in Darfur is still going on. Its been about 5 years and nothing new is happening, some people in Darfur say. The government still continues its successful attacks for the Darfurians. They are lying to the world by trying to disguise themselves by painting their planes white like the planes the UN uses to carry food and water to the survivors. All the attacks have likely not have been targeted for the rebels but towards the civilians that reside in the villages. The government is trying to eliminate them from society. They first drop bombs in the villages and then raid the villages like stealing loot, burning down huts and killing anyone that survived the bombs. The people of Darfur are being tortured. It is ruthless and terrible how some young  girls are being raped by government soldiers. Since 2003 an estimated number of about 200,000 dead and 2,400,000 left to be homeless. The Sudanese government remaines untouched by the comments made by fellow US celebrities and Sudan’s trading partner, the Chinese government. When is this madness of mass killings, rapes and bombing going to stop?! It might not stop anytime soon due to the fact that UN peacekeepers might have to pull out of Darfur because of the increasing violence. The 2 billion dollar investment on the UN peacekeepers is in trouble because of the security issues that concern the peacekeepers in Darfur. There is some good news though other countries like Ethiopia, Nigeria, and China have considered sending their troops and peacekeepers to help the cause. But the peacekeepers there that need to get out need helicopters for the transportation. The Sudanese Government has recently launched an attack against the peaceful mission. Causing and uproar and an outrage in many countries.  Remember the Darfurians are people too and deserve the right to live in peace like we do and it is our global responsibility.

Blog 4 Darfur Day

I thought the blog for Darfur was very successful. We got more then 670 comments ! Was was kind of surprised with he comments because they were well thought out and not brief and sloppy like I thought they would be like. I also liked how students from other schools posted comments about our comments like how they agree with us. Overall I thought the Blog 4 Darfur was a success and really helped people realize the crisis that is happening in Darfur should not be taken lightly.

Global Responsibility& Darfur

 The usual scene in
Darfur is people running and hiding where they could hoping it would be burned down. Children are frightened trying to find their family in all this chaos. Women of any age being raped and left to die. All you can see is red. Red from the blood of the innocent shed. Red from the fires that are burning the homes and possessions the people of
Darfur once known. When the janjaweed have done their tasks the government bombers and Sudanese government comes to make sure nobody is a survivor by bombing and shooting. The few that survived that horrid destruction are left with no food or shelter or family. They are basically left to die of a painfully emotional death.

In the western region of Sudan is a stretch of land called
Darfur. The people in
Darfur are usually farmers trying to make living from planting crops. Darfur used to have rebels that were rebelling against the Sudanese Government claming that the government was corrupt and that it was abandoning the people of
Darfur. The Sudanese Government in response to this was to send the Janjaweed. Janjaweed in Arabic means man or devil on horseback. Janjaweed did their tasks and the rebels were no more, but they decided they could do much more and they decided to burn down the villages and terrorize the innocent unarmed people of
Darfur. You would think that the Sudanese Government would be there to aid the Darfurians, but they didn’t. They made it worst. They sent their army to
Darfur and government bombers to bomb the villages that were fully occupied with people. The force they brought into Darfur was no t to eliminate the Janjaweed but to eliminate the people in
Darfur. This is when we say that this is genocide. When genocide happens it is our global responsibility to prevent and stop it. Then why is 5 years later the
Darfur crisis is still going on?

Global Responsibility is basically the responsibility the people of the world have. Our responsibility to try to do all we can to stop genocides from happening, like
Darfur. Everyday, ordinary people can make a big difference. So use any chances you get contribute to a program that help the people in
Darfur. Remember it is our responsibility to stop this tragedy.

SOS SAVE DARFUR

They are in desperate need of help. Many more people are dying and suffering. The voices of the people need to be heard and answered to. We need to use any resourceswe have to save the Darfurians. On March 6th we are having a “Blog 4 Darfur” day to spread more awareness for the people of Darfur that are suffering and that are in pain mentally and physically. Please help us help them and show your global responsibility. Little children are being tramatised by these acts of senseless violence. So I just ask to help spread the word for those in Darfur that have endured do much. Remember this happened on our watch.
