Run Faster.
A story by two24.
Run. In my head I only think of running away. Running away from people, problems, life. Ever since I was born all my dad ever did was run. Run from the law. It never solved anything. Maybe that’s way my dad is in jail and I’m in an orphanage. Or should I say he was in jail and I was in an orphanage. I’m Tara. A black fifteen year-old girl living in the cold, hard streets of New York. Alone. By myself. This all started when I was born.
My mom was a waitress, maid, and artist. She did all three jobs, everyday, every single week. When she wasn’t serving food she was cleaning after some rich family. When she wasn’t doing that she was trying to get her paintings sold. On the job, that’s when she meet dad. A man who sold cheap knock offs of designer clothes. The only thing real about him was the love he had for my mom. They were going to get married until they had me. My mom died after having me. Isn’t sad. Don’t cry cause its not. At least not to me. My dad really loved my mom so he decided to raise me up. Bad idea. He was a con-man not ready to be a daddy. But can’t say he didn’t try. Because of his job we were always running from mad customers and the police. We ran everyday of my life until we just weren’t fast enough. Police caught him, I went to an orphanage, and blah blah blah. What happened next, didn’t susprise me. My dad was killed in jail and he’s body was burned. The police had no suspects so it was Cased Closed.
My time in the Orphanage was okay compared to my life on the run. I got eight years of education, a couple friends and half a house full of enemies. Aren’t I lucky? No! When ever I got in trouble I just walked away. Sometimes days. Sometimes weeks. I would always come back until that day. In the orphanage their was this one girl who thought she was so special. We were always fighting until it went too far. First words came out, then punches, and then knives. Long story short. I killed her. After that I ran the fastest I’ve ever did. Five minutes later I could hear sirens coming closer and closer to me. All I could think is run faster, run faster. I don’t know how but all that running led me to Wyckoff, New Jersey. Can you say bad BO ?
In Wyckoff, I made a life of stealing food from grocery store. Here is where I meet other teens like me. Most of them boys. New Jersey, sweet, sweet, New Jersey is where I got my first boyfriend. In New York I was always to hard core for all that love stuff. I guess in New Jersey, love found a way to get into my hard exterior. Its name was Blake. Even though he was white he was just as hard as any black man who had lost everything they ever had. We met when I was going grocery shopping. He was the cashier and didn’t snitch because I was cute. He was the reason I went to that store everyday just to talk to him. In a month he knew all about my life, my thoughts, my wants. How could I trust a stranger? I couldn’t, but he was all I had if you count an old cardboard box I slept in everynight. We became fast friends to the cutest couple. Everything was going fine until Blake’s friend had ideas. But I wasn’t surprised when it happened because my whole life I was the target for bad luck. Blake’s friend Delante had a thing for me. One day I was in Blake’s apartment with Delante and Blake. When Blake left to get more food that is when Delante decided to do his own things. When he did he’s thing I did mine and ran away. He was not going to rape me as I long as I’m still alive. I ended up running right into Blake. I told he what happened and he told me we should leave. Turns out that Delante had a reputation of getting what he wants at all costs. He also has a big crew to get him what he wants. Delante found out where we were. All I could hear is Blake telling me to run faster. We ran faster into a dead end. Instead of running all I think about was my dad, Blake, and how I’m sixteen and never got a sweet sixteen party. My thoughts were soon interupted by Blake’s voice. His sweet voice saying something my dad only told me. I love you Tara. Next I told him something so unfamiliar to me that I didn’t understand it when it came out. I love you. Delante was defintinely not an evil villain in the movies. He didn’t even say some cheesey line before we pulled the trigger. He killed Blake first. I was so confused and lost that I walked right to him, took the gun from his hands and killed myself.

I LOVED THE STORY! It was a great story, it really showed me a new side to life on the streets. It was so sad how the girl ened up killing herself, but at the same time a great ending. I hope for you to write more stories soon cause you are a great writer and have a real talent!
